19 hearts down, 91 to go! |
That done, I continued on and made four patches.
Then I was out of town for the weekend and didn't sew, but I've since gotten started on turning my four patches into hearts. I will need 110 hearts to make the quilt size I have planned. 30 of them will be the light purple and 80 will be the dark.
My layout is going to feel quite a bit different than the original pattern. The designer made all of her hearts with very similar background colors, whereas I have pulled two fairly different purples and will have more of a block and sashing look.

Pretty! I can't wait to see more of it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. I think your change in background color is going to add a great visual interest to the quilt.
ReplyDeleteHow cute. I like the different backgrounds as well.
ReplyDeleteThose hearts are so cute, I love the layout you have in the last photo!
ReplyDeleteThis looks good so far :-) I like that you are changing it around to make it your own.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the finished quilt, and it is so sweet of you to be able to wrap her in a quilty hug.
ReplyDeletePretty nicelLove them!!
ReplyDeleteNow I understand why there are 110 hearts! I prefer your two tone background and sashing to all one. also. I am going to store away that bit of inspiration.
