There is going to be stitching in all three of the borders. I have started on the first two. The third one is close enough to the edge that it will require some finessing with the hoop, so I'm going to do that one separately. No reason to make them all complicated!
I've been getting rid of the batting lint as I go. It's very striking just how black the borders are again!
Starting to sew - a fun curlicue. |
Your hand quilting stitches are lovely! They are adding so much to this project
ReplyDeleteLove your site! I do like the way you take your time. Inspiration to me!
ReplyDeleteWhat great texture your stitches are adding to the quilt. So pretty from the back.
ReplyDeleteI love that multicolored thread that you are using in the curlicue. That is going to be so pretty. I am looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have not yet seen the rainbow thread. Very pretty. Love the blocks. When some hand quilters get to the edges of quilt, they baste on an extra piece of fabric along border, to help hold quilt in hoop or frame. This is done to maintain the tension.
ReplyDeleteLove your variegated thread ... perfect choice for this quilt! This is going to be a fabulous quilt! I can't wait to see it when it's done.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilting! I love using variegated thread too, can't seem to get enough of it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! Batting lint is really a pain to deal with, especially on black!
ReplyDeleteYou're getting so close! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThis will be a very sweet quilt, beautiful on both sides!
ReplyDeleteBaby's going to love this quilt - and the colorful thread will only add more goodness to it. Great quilting. Thanks for linking to Hexie Weekend. Hope you do again so we can see more of your work.
ReplyDeleteLove the variegated thread! It will look great!!
