50th Post!

I finally made a little more progress on my maple quilt.  Slow and steady and all that.  Except if I keep up at this pace I won't be finished piecing until after the wedding!  So I'll have to pick up the pace a bit.

I'm also still trying to finalize the layout.  The pattern called for 35 blocks (using a 5x7 layout), but the proportions were odd for a queen sized quilt.

I'm planning to make my quilt shorter by using only 30 blocks and the last row will be split between the top and the bottom so that all the corners are still the same.  The only thing I have left to do is to figure out which half block I want to use in the corners; a decision that shouldn't be as difficult as it's proving to be.

  1. I like the one on the left. My eyes seem to know where to start to take it all in better with the whole block near the top. :O)

  2. I agree with Susan, the one at the left. It's going to be lovely whatever you do.

  3. Both layouts are great... But I am in agreement with Susan and Margaret. Just seem to like the one on the left better for some reason. Hope you can get the rest of the blocks completed on time! They look great!

  5. Seriously, do I always have to be the odd one out??? I love the version on the right!! Saying that, I do not dislike the left one so I think it's a win, win for you. Will be stunning whatever you choose.

  6. That quilt is going to be gorgeous! I like the one on the right too like Sue C. (You were not alone). But I agree not a wrong decision could be made!

  7. I have to say that I like the one on the right better as well. It reminds me more of falling leaves. Although I agree that either one would turn out beautifully. Such fun blocks.

  8. This will be beautiful! I'm going to weigh in on the left layout : ) Though I agree it's a tough call and both are appealing in their own right.
