My penguin quilt and I are of differing minds on a very important subject. I believe it should go together easily and lay flat. My penguins appear to disagree. (Silly penguins...)
Since we have been unable to resolve our differences, we have decided to take some time apart.
In the end it's likely I'll accept that it's not so bad. But right now it's going to take a short vacation where the seam ripper can't get to it. I'm sure some of my other projects would appreciate some attention anyway!

Linking up with WiP Wednesday.
Your penguins are adorable, even if they won't lay flat! Maybe they'll be more agreeable after a break.
ReplyDeleteLove your penguin quilt, especially the pieced border corners. Maybe they're just destined to be fluffy, well-fed penguins?
ReplyDeleteSilly silly penguins. Still in love with them so looking forward to see you finish them some other time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt! I love the way in which the nine patches in the lattice blend into the border. Have you tried steaming and blocking the quilt top, in order to get it to lie flat? I've started using Ann Fahl's method from Dancing with Thread. Here's a on-line quilt blogger's description of the method: http://quiltingclimber.blogspot.ca/2011_08_01_archive.html. I think her quilt is already quilted, but you can block the top alone, quilt it, and then block it again.
ReplyDeleteThe penguins are great! I can't get over how small your nine-patches are!! Totally astonishing. Sometimes quilts need a time-out :) good choice. Can't wait to see your other projects!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great quilt! I've had problems and frustration with quilts not laying flat, hopefully taking a little break from it will help you figure out the best course of action to take with it!
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest quilt ever!!!
ReplyDeleteGood to walk or waddle away for a bit and let the penguins be.
