There is a new baby quilt taking shape here as well. I had a pretty good selection in my stash, but there were still a few fabrics that needed to be purchased: some flannel for the back and a white for sashing.
Flannel was easy to find and the colors in this piece match so closely to the focus fabric that you'd think they were produced together! On the other hand, it seems white on whites are hard to find around here. It took three fabric stores to find a place that carried any, but it all worked out well in the end.
I'm really looking forward to getting started on this quilt. It's been a while since I've had a good hand quilting project in the works, and that's a shame!

I love both your fabric pulls. The rainbow is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteAs someone with a chemistry background, I am in love with the scientific animal print! Where is it from?!?!
ReplyDeleteI love baby quilts, and cannot wait to see these as they get further along! Love the fabrics you selected!
ReplyDeleteGreat match on the flannel. I like the boldness of your fabric choices for the baby quilt. Be sure to check that the deep colored flannel does not bleed into your white on white. You probably know that so no insult intended, just a reminder. Color Catcher sheets by Shout work great.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I too find white on white hard to find. I bought a bunch of a white on white printed with little hearts when it was on clearance. But the hearts all face the same way so I do not feel I can be a carefree to use it in random orientations. I suppose I could let go and be free as long as I am consistently random, but I find that hard.
