Penguins - A Finished Top

Penguin Quilt Top

Ta da!  The penguin quilt top is now complete.  There are still some waves in it, but I've made my peace with that.  Hopefully they will work themselves out during the quilting process.

This quilt was originally supposed to have one more round of borders, but I decided to leave them off.  They were just plain borders, and these penguins were telling me they were done.

The quilt top measures approximately 51 x 63.

Floors in Boxes!

In other news, can you tell I finally got over my procrastination on setting up my sewing room?  I had been dragging my feet for about ten months.  One week after I finish setting everything up we went out to buy new floors!  Isn't that always the way...?  I told my husband that I should have continued to wait, but he pointed out that I wouldn't have gotten my new floors then.

Operation (re-)empty the sewing room has begun.  It will be a lot of work, but I'm very excited to get rid of the carpet!

Linking up at WiP Wednesday and Finish it up Friday.

  1. Such a quilt top. I love the nine patches in the boarder. It reminds me of those old photo album tabs.

  2. Oh! I really, really lOVE your penguins. :D And that'll be a nice floor.

  3. How fun is that?! I love the penguins!

  4. Love, love the Penguins! The corner blocks look fantastic too. When a Penguin tells you it's time to stop, I'd listen too!

  5. The penguins are adorable! And re-emptying the sewing room to get those floors will be well worth it- I love that my sewing room is carpet free (makes basting a breeze).

  6. i am definitely feeling the penguin love . .seems the last few projects i've come across (quilt, pillow, bag) have all involved penguins and i'm loving it. is this your own creation or someone else's pattern? adorable!!

  7. Your penguin quilt is really cute. I think you were right to not add another border.

  8. Oh it turned out so cute! I love the corner detail!
