Fabric Remnants

I've finished sewing all the stems for the remaining maple leaves.  I even made the stems for the block I forgot about.  That's thirty-six stems!  Someone needs to remind me, the next time I think about making a leaf, that I should just make bear paws instead.  All these stems were a bit annoying.

I have half of the leaf points sewn as well.  There's still a lot of trimming and ironing to do, but I may be ready for block assembly by the weekend.

Yesterday I found out that my tooth is going to require a bit more help and a little more time to heal than I anticipated, so to pick myself up I applied a little retail therapy.  A half yard of red polka dots helped quite nicely.

Last but not least, I recently had some fabric passed on to me by a friend.  I took part of it, but there are some pieces that I know will find a better home with someone else.  There's some flannel...

A large piece of upholstery weight stripes...

And a handful of creamy batiks.

I'd love to give them to a quilter that can use them, so if you're interested please let me know which fabrics you want and what you would use them for.  My apologies to my international readers, but preference will be given to those with US mailing addresses.

  2. I am visiting from lets bee social-I just went through a painful tooth too-and it ended up costing way too much money to fix-sigh I love gnomes so your polka dots will go perfect with that piece.
that does sound like allot of stems to make-but now they are done

  3. I often am inspired by someone like you that does all that little annoying stuff...to create a beautiful quilt. Look forward to seeing it! I found you on Sew Fresh Linky!

  4. Nice fabric. I would use the batiks for a quilt project that I'm slowly collecting scraps for (cream/orange/brown/yellow/red).

  5. The creamy batiks would make wonderful Meals on Wheels placemats, my current project. Thanks for the chance to win. VermontPines at aol dot com

  7. We have just moved, and I don't have much of a budget for anything right now so I am making things with scraps; I would use the batiks for a tablecloth or place mats, and I would use the upholstery fabric to make seat cushions. Thank you for passing it along! sarah@forrussia.org

  8. Oh my what a lovely collection! I'm dreaming up projects for those batiks and the bundle with the whimsical fish! :) My son when he was a toddler had shorts made out of that very same fish print...no longer any of the fabrics remaining in my stash...this would be perfect to go in the engagement quilt I am working on for him and those batiks are perfect blenders!!!...Wedding bells will be ringing soon! :)
Now about your poor tooth! There is a Bible verse I say over my teeth every day, "My teeth are like sheep home from the wash, each one present and accounted for, each without spot or blemish, none are missing their twin" Which translates to all of your teeth are beautifully white, restored, none broken or missing. May the restoration and healing of your tooth manifest this day!

  9. I would love the batiks, as I am planning on starting a batik project once I get a few of my UFO's finished.
I hate teeth problems. They are no fun and I have so far had 4 pulled. Still no fun.
