Pin Problem

I've been prodding myself to put in 15 minutes a day on my maple quilt.  I'm not sure why I'm dragging my feet so hard on this quilt but it needs to be done, so I'm going to have to make myself work on it.

Since the last time I posted, I decided on a layout, I cut out all the pieces for the remaining blocks, and marked up all my triangles.

Time for some sewing!

So sew I did.

But I was tired and I got sloppy about pulling my pins out.  And wouldn't you know it...  Bam!  As usual, less than an inch from the end.

And apparently I had no new machine needles handy.  The one I did find had obviously been used; it had a burr on the end.  Who knows why it was still lying around and not in the garbage... but now I'm hung up until I find another pack of needles.  I think there might be one hiding in my sewing room, somewhere.  But I'll likely be getting out to the store to buy more this weekend.  We'll see how my fabric diet goes when faced with a store-full of pretty temptation!

  1. I love the colours I can see that will be in your maple quilt. You have some good exercise, just say you can work off those extra fabric calories!!

  2. I hope you get the needle issue fixed soon and can get started on those maple leaves. You seem to have a lot of them too.

  3. You are making good progress on your maples. That is a lot of HST. I always hate it when I run out of something in the middle of a project, usually late at night when the stores are closed. Usually it is my basting spray. ;)

  4. I get crazy when I have less than one full package of any size needle. I know - it's weird and OCD, but I keep a package that never gets used just so I know I have them. I might have a problem, lol!

Good for you for getting it done! Sometimes you just have to put the nose to the grindstone. :)

  6. Looks like that 15 minutes a day is helping you make some progress. Sure do hate when I run out of supplies (like needles and pins)!

  7. I hate it when things get screwed up like that. I managed to break 2 needles while quilting a quilt the other day (fortunately I had spares) but sometimes it is just like seriously!

Keep on going this is going to be great I love the colors that I can see so far!
