Next up was putting the finishing touches on a Christmas table runner. It's done a bit early for the holidays, but that's certainly fine by me! I'm just really excited to have decorations to use in our new home!
I really love the colors on this piece. The grey and the red seem a little more wintery than holiday specific to me, and I am looking forward to getting all the use out of this that I can!
The back is a little busy but I wanted it to be darker than the front. The idea is that it will be more forgiving during use than the light colors of the top... as long as I remember to turn it over! It was inspired by the center present in Lorna's Boxes-n-Bows table runner.

I just love red and grey for the holidays. I am a big fan of teal and grey as well. I actually think I have some of that very fabric laying around waiting to be turned into something. :) Beautiful job on the table runner!
ReplyDeleteI never actually get holiday sewing done in time, so I think this is a fine idea. But I admit I have a difficult time actually making myself work on it when it's hot outside....
